Approximately twenty-five thousand homes in Queensland's southeast woke up without power on Monday morning after powerful weather events impacted the region, bringing strong winds reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Massive Hailstones and Broad Destruction
Residents observed giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7cm in some areas. Weather authorities announced that various areas across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Rescue organizations received 598 calls for help across the state, mostly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along large portions of Queensland's east this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
The following day was expected to become the wettest day, with persistent thunderstorm potential expected across multiple regions of both areas.

Public health experts warned that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
