Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his first trophy for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a former number one, has had a difficult year, managing just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.
It is the player's maiden trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt from spring of that year.
The win also signifies Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at 21 distinct events.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is particularly special," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six finals, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had prompted some to wonder if his capacity to perform at the top level was over.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and perform positively, reinforced by an better serve.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the concluding five games to take the lead.
The competitors swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to create a third set.
Moutet rescued 4 initial chances in a tight deciding set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner secured the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
